ACCESS Community Center Dual Donor Recognition Program & Expansion

The Challenge

ACCESS serves as a vital hub for social services, cultural programming, and economic empowerment in the community. Their donor recognition needed to reflect both the energy of ongoing annual fundraising and the lasting impact of major capital gifts—two very different needs within one cohesive environment.

They required:

  • Two distinct donor walls with different lifecycles

  • An annual campaign display that could be updated quickly and cost-effectively

  • permanent capital campaign wall that felt timeless, architectural, and worthy of transformational gifts

  • A unified design language that aligned with their mission and welcoming public spaces

Ten years later, the challenge evolved further:
The organization had grown, branding had been refreshed, and donor participation had expanded—requiring a larger, more prominent, and updated recognition experience without losing the equity of the original installation.

Our Approach

We treated the project as a flexible system rather than a single installation, designing each component around how it would function over time.

Strategy & Planning

We developed:

  • Concept design drawings

  • Material and finish studies

  • Update procedures for staff

  • Fabrication methods optimized for longevity

  • A scalable framework for future expansion

This planning ensured the walls would be as practical to manage as they were impactful visually.

The Solution

Annual Campaign Wall

Designed for flexibility and speed, this system features:

  • Printed graphic paper inserts that were easily updatable

  • Standardized frames for quick updates

  • Cost-effective reprints each year

Staff can refresh the wall without specialized tools or fabrication, keeping recognition current with minimal downtime.

Permanent Capital Campaign Wall

For capital campaign donors, we created a more architectural and lasting expression:

  • Names etched into glass panels for permanence and elegance

  • large-scale environmental wall graphic that anchors the installation

  • dramatic sculptural centerpiece that adds depth and dimensionality

The result is both recognition and art, something that elevates the space rather than simply labeling it.

Expansion & Rebrand (10-Year Update)

A decade later, ACCESS returned to expand the program. Instead of starting over, we:

  • Reused the original sculptural centerpiece

  • Added new and larger name panels

  • Introduced updated wall graphics aligned with refreshed branding

  • Relocated the installation to a larger, more prominent location

This approach preserved prior investment while accommodating growth and improving visibility.

Results

The completed program delivers:

  • Effortless annual updates for campaign donors

  • Timeless, high-impact recognition for major gifts

  • A cohesive visual language across multiple installations

  • Reduced long-term maintenance costs

  • Built-in scalability for future growth

  • Greater prominence and visibility after expansion

Most importantly, ACCESS now has a recognition system that grows alongside their mission—celebrating both today’s supporters and lasting legacies with equal clarity and respect.
